More struggling schools will be able to turn away new pupils during the school year if they are disruptive, under improvement plans announced by the schools secretary today. Schools where fewer than 20% of pupils get five A*-C grade GCSEs, including English and maths, will be able to decline unruly pupils they are asked to admit mid-year. Guardian
